about
Recorded in 1983 this song was a one off for this short - lived aggregation of top flight players. Boasting a stellar cast of musicians including trumpet player Guy Barker ( Sting, Ornette Colmam, XTC and many more ) and drummer Trevor Murrell ( Wham! , Sade, Bee Gees etc ). Wonderful production by Warne Livesy ( Midnight Oil ) make this a stand out track.

lyrics
If you were so inclined
And our politics aligned
I could love you
If I could summon up the nerve
To complement your curve
Then I would do
But my resources are undermined
Gone from ridiculous to sublime
I just can't stand all this suspense
Much more and I'll be way past tense
If you loved me
Then you know you'd have to
Bend alittle
Dont be so rigid
Slowly by degrees
We could laterally agree
On an idea
A notion thats old fangled
Approached from a new angle
Is what we need here
